I was surprised by my husband with a trip to Disney World for my birthday in early December. I’ve never been to Disney before. In addition to having the time of my life, I also learned how important EXCEPTIONAL, not just great, customer service can be.
Everything was impeccable. There was not a gum wrapper or even spilt glitter anywhere on the floor. Managers strolled around the park with a mechanical arm to pick up trash. I was blown away. I could have eaten off the pavement (but wouldn’t have)!
There were Disney crew everywhere and as soon as they saw you whip out that map they were there to assist you. Not only would they help us find what we were hunting, but they also gave us an overview and told us “insider information.” They’d even share a personal experience. I felt so comfortable being there.
All three parks we visited were packed–and they said this was a slow week!
I’ve learned that you can’t just say you have great customer service, that’s not enough. You have to BELIEVE it and bleed exceptionalism.
So here’s to a new year, a new philosophy and a new outlook.
Cheers!
